A serious road accident in Ahmedabad left two young women injured after a speeding city bus collided with their scooty near Shah Alam Toll Naka, raising fresh concerns over traffic discipline at busy intersections. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, reportedly took place when the two riders were attempting to cross the road at a junction and entered the bus’s blind spot.
According to initial reports, the bus was approaching from the front at a considerable speed when the scooty moved into the crossing area. Due to the blind angle and lack of reaction time, the driver could not stop in time, resulting in a direct collision. The CCTV visuals show the impact throwing both girls off the two-wheeler and onto the road, leaving bystanders shocked. Traffic at the intersection came to a brief halt as people rushed to help the injured victims.
The two injured girls were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. While their condition is said to be stable, the incident has once again highlighted the dangers of overspeeding, blind spots in heavy vehicles, and poor intersection awareness.
Authorities are expected to review the CCTV footage and investigate whether negligence, overspeeding, or signal violations contributed to the crash. Citizens are urging stricter speed control measures, improved junction design, and greater awareness among both bus drivers and two-wheeler riders to avoid such accidents in the future.
