Mumbai, In an inspiring display of dedication, the Mumbai Police successfully reunited four-year-old Aarohi with her parents six months after she went missing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). The emotional reunion, fittingly on Children’s Day, has captured the nation’s heart.
Aarohi disappeared on May 20, 2025, when her exhausted mother briefly fell asleep while the family waited at CSMT. What followed was half a year of despair for her parents, who travelled tirelessly between police stations, shelters, and railway platforms searching for their daughter.
Despite minimal clues, the Mumbai Police refused to give up. Crime Branch and Railway Police teams circulated posters across multiple states, coordinated with shelters, and tracked every possible lead. Officers kept Aarohi’s photograph in their pockets as a reminder of their ongoing mission.
The breakthrough came in Varanasi, where a young girl known as “Kashi” had been found abandoned near railway tracks in June. A local reporter who saw one of Aarohi’s posters recognized similarities and notified authorities. When police arranged a video call, the child’s use of Marathi words and her resemblance confirmed her identity.
On November 14, Aarohi was flown back to Mumbai, where officers welcomed her with balloons and gifts. In a deeply emotional moment, she ran toward the officers before being reunited with her parents, who broke down in relief and joy.
While the investigation continues, the case stands as a powerful example of persistence, compassion, and exemplary police work.
