A tragic road accident in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad has claimed four lives after a coal-laden trailer allegedly entered from the wrong side and rammed head-on into a Scorpio SUV. The horrific collision took place on a busy stretch of road, and the impact was so severe that the SUV was completely mangled, leaving the occupants with virtually no chance of survival.
According to initial reports, the trailer is believed to have crossed the divider and moved into the opposite lane, where it directly collided with the oncoming Scorpio. Eyewitnesses described the crash as devastating, with the force of the impact crushing the front portion of the vehicle. All four people travelling in the Scorpio died on the spot, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The incident has once again highlighted the deadly consequences of wrong-side driving and reckless heavy vehicle movement, especially on highways used by coal transport trailers. Local residents have raised concerns over poor traffic discipline and demanded stricter checks on overloaded and rashly driven commercial vehicles.
Police and transport authorities are expected to investigate the exact cause of the accident, including whether negligence, overspeeding, or route violations were involved. The tragedy stands as a grim reminder that a single act of carelessness on the road can destroy multiple families in seconds. Citizens are urging stronger enforcement of traffic rules, divider monitoring, and strict penalties for wrong-side driving to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future.
