A startling incident from Deoria district in Uttar Pradesh has raised serious concerns about child safety and awareness after a Class 7 student allegedly handed over his family’s gold jewellery worth nearly ₹85 lakh to local momo sellers. According to police officials, the minor was reportedly enticed by the vendors, who promised him free momos for several years in exchange for the jewellery.

The matter came to light when the boy’s family noticed that several gold ornaments were missing from their home. On questioning the child, he revealed that he had given the jewellery to the momo sellers without understanding its value or the consequences of his actions. The ornaments reportedly included multiple high-value gold items that had been safely stored at the house.

Following the revelation, the family approached the police, who promptly registered a First Information Report (FIR) and launched an investigation. Law enforcement authorities are now working to trace the accused vendors and recover the missing jewellery.
